Handwriting
Each day we spend 15 mins learning to write letters and words, encouraging the correct formation of each letter. We also teach the children the importance of a good pencil grip and position for writing. Many children do not naturally form letters this way and it can take a while for them to do so, therefore it is important to praise and encourage all children’s attempts to write to develop their confidence and enthusiasm.
Young children often need to build up strength in their bodies, arms and fingers to enable them to write effectively so we incorporate fun exercises, songs and games to develop this during our sessions as well as providing activities to develop this during ‘free flow’.
Below you will find the handwriting font we use in at School so you can support your child at home.
